He will be remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife Netty; children Cal (Lori) of Summerland, BC and Eric (Traci) of Davenport, FL; grandchildren Jordy, Bailey, Hunter (Brandon), and Jake; and sister Edith Shewfelt. He was predeceased by parents Louie and Selma Johnson, sister Carrie (Harold) Krobel, brother- in-law Bob Shewfelt, and niece Karen Shewfelt.
Ed was born in Estevan, SK with moves to Cranberry Portage, MB, Ajax, ON, back to Cranberry, Thompson, MB, Flin Flon, MB, and his last to Summerland after retirement.
He co-owned a grocery/propane gas business until they were bought out by Dome Petroleum and then went to work for the new owners, Steelgas. He enjoyed his job and respected the workers.
His interests were many. He loved fishing at Goose Lake, watching hockey (especially the Bombers), Netty, his children and grandchildren, BBQing on Saturday, scuba diving, coffee at Johnny's, golfing (especially Men's Night in Flin Flon), square and round dancing, Rotary Club, bonfires at the trailer in Cranberry, his Cranberry buddies, Summerland, his siblings and their families, and his church. He and Netty enjoyed travelling and his two favorites were a family reunion in Norway and snowbirding in Florida while bonding with his grandchildren.
Our family will be forever grateful to Dr. Venkataraman, Reverend Armand Houle, and Dr. Andrew Pavilion staff.
"Fly high beloved warrior. You fought well and now you are released from your darkness."
