Edith C. Hallquist
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edith Hallquist, of Summerland, BC. Survived by son Bruce (Mary); grandchildren Lisa (Mike), Kelly (Ricky), Brad (Emily); great grandchildren Megan, Mya, and Spencer. Predeceased by her husband Jerry and son Roderick. Edith and Jerry moved to Summerland in 1946 and owned and operated the Cake Box Bakery. They moved on in 1949 to establish the Summerland 5¢ to $1.00 Store, which they operated until 1996. Edith was always the very supportive partner in her 68 years of marriage to Jerry. Edith touched the lives of many people in Summerland, unbeknownst to the rest of us. A private family service will be held.
