Edgar HUDSON

July 1, 2008

Edgar “Ed” Arthur HUDSON 27 May 1933 – 01 July 2008 Born in Edmonton, Alberta 27 May 1933, Ed passed to the “Great Workshop in Heaven” on 01 July 2008 following a year of recurrent illness. Not choosing to go quietly, he waited for the fireworks of our national holiday. For those that knew him, it is fitting somehow. He is survived by: his wife, Julie; brother, Bob; sister Joy; seven adult children, seventeen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Ed was pre-deceased by his first wife Lorna in 1985. Ed lived a proud life of service as a firefighter, retiring after 33 years, as Chief of Operations for the DNVFD. He spent a lifetime honing his skills as an administrator, Master Carpenter, teacher, preceptor, mentor, husband, father/grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed. The family would like to offer it’s heartfelt thanks to Dr. Venkataraman and the staff at the Penticton Regional Hospital for their many acts of kindness during Ed’s hospitalizations. In keeping with his legacy and desires, a very simple “Celebration of Life” will be convened in Manning Park, Lightening Lakes, Group Campsite “Lone Duck One” on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers or donations, hug your children or offer some kindness for an elder person. He’d like that. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Providence Funeral Homes. Condolences may be sent to family: summerlandfuneralhome@vip.net. “Ed”Ath HUDS
