Diane Smiley passed away at Moog Hospice House in Penticton on February 9, 2025, at age eighty-three. Diane was predeceased by her husband Gerry Smiley and her siblings, Norma Whale, Janet Smith and William Smith.
Diane was born April 25, 1941, in Mission, BC. The first child of Elizabeth (Norrish) and Joseph Smith, she grew up on her parents' farm in Matsqui. In 1964 Diane married Gerry Smiley. In 1970 they moved to Summerland and raised two children, Joanne and Trevor. Diane worked as a Long-Term Care Aide for over 20 years at Summerland Hospital Extended Care.
Diane will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Joanne and grandsons, Oscar and Theo; son, Trevor (Amanda) and grandsons Carter and Jack.
