It is with profound sadness that the family of Denise announce her passing. You've left us all with unimaginable pain and heartache, but we can rest easy knowing you are with your precious Geoff.
Dee was born in Moose Jaw, SK into a military family, growing up all across Canada, France, and Germany. She was the third of six children born to John and Rose Smith.
Denise was a very kind soul, who would do anything for anyone, providing a hot meal or roof over their heads; she had an open door policy. She had a love for cooking and especially baking delicious desserts. Dee was also well read in history and politics, always up for a good debate. She was a great listener.
Denise leaves to mourn her son Chris (Natasha) of Penticton, BC; daughter Echo (Ron) of Calgary, AB; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; her mom Rose Smith; sisters Wendy (Jerry) Schindel and Robyn (Gregg) Wilson; sisters-in-law Glenda and Anita Smith; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by son Geoffrey (2010), father John (2007), brothers Terry (2014) and Danny (2015), and infant sister Toni-Lee (1948).
The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude for the compassion and kindness provided to Denise in her final months at Trinity Care Centre - you know who you are. A special thank you to Laverne for her care in Denise's most difficult days.
