Daniel P. Stead October 21, 1942 - April 17, 2007 Passed away peacefully at his home in Summerland after a long battle with cancer. Loving husband of Jane and father to Melissa (Steve), Garett (Cathy), Jake & Joey. Dan was also grandfather to Jordan, Darci, Emily and Jack. Predeceased by sister Gloria and survived by brothers Joe (Josie), Mike (Helen) and sisters Judy (Joe) and Margaret. Dan was born in New Westminster and raised in the Lower Mainland, but spent most of his adult life all over the province of BC. He was with the Ministry of Highways for 35 years which saw him reside in the far reaches of the province such as Dease Lake, Red Pass and Dawson Creek. An avid fi sher, he was happy living in the north for many years, but he eventually found his way south to Summerland with Jane and his youngest children Jake and Joey. He fi nished up his career in the Okanagan as the General Manager for Argo Road Maintenance. Dan will be missed for his quick wit, silly antics and huge heart. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Penticton Oncology ward and to Dr. Robert Mack. A very special thank you as well to Public Health Nurse Joanne Whyte. A memorial service was held at Summerland United Church on April 20th.
