Sep 26, 1917 - Feb 20, 2018
Christina Blanche Cooke passed away February 20, 2018 at the age of 100.

'Mummy Cookie', as she was affectionately known by her family, is survived by her daughters Sharon of Summerland, BC and Janice (Leo) of Chetwynd, BC; grandchildren Aimee, Alesia, and Mike; and 4 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband John Cooke, who held the position of school principal at MacDonald Elementary School in Summerland from 1956-1973.

Christina was born in Oxbow, SK September 26, 1917 to Kenneth and Margaret Macleod.  She earned her Bachelor of Home Economics from the University of Saskatchewan.  She moved west to BC and worked at Vancouver General Hospital and for the Red Cross, traveling the province.  She met and married John while in Prince George.  They  moved to Summerland in 1956.

Christina loved to cook, knit, sew, read, play golf and bridge, curl, and work in her big garden.  She was humble, generous, kind, loving, and had a lovely sense of humor.  She very often expressed how grateful she was for the life she had lived.

A family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate her life and all the love she gave her family.

She will be lovingly laid to rest beside her husband, John, at a private family interment in Canyon View Cemetery, Summerland, BC.
