Betty Merriam of Summerland, passed away peacefully on August 12th, 2008 at the age of 89 years. Survived by her loving family: Harvey Merriam of Rocky Mountain House, AB; Dave (Marilyn) Merriam of Elmworth, AB; Barb (Bob) Buschert of Summerland, BC; Brenda (Gerry) Daku of Elkford, BC; Marj (Jesse) Epps of Houston, BC; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Johnson of Burnaby, BC. She was sadly predeceased by her husband, Reg in 1988. Betty was well known in Summerland. She walked through town many times each day saying hello to everyone she met. She was very kind, generous and soft spoken. A private family service will be held at a later date.
