ALEXANDER 'ALEX' YAKUNIN

November 19, 2011

Alexander “Alex” Yakunin

August 14, 1933 - November 19, 2011

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Alex Yakunin on November 19th, 2011. Alex will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his loving wife Lanette, his son Kenneth (Esther) Yakunin, and daughter Marilee Yakunin. Alex was predeceased by his first wife Shirley, his son Bryan, his mother Helen and father Andrew, as well as six siblings; Ena, Edward, Nicholas, Mildred, Andrew and Boris. From his early football career with the Bronks and Stampeders, 33 years with A.G.T., his passion for words, and his love of golf, he lived his life surrounded by the many folks he called friend. With unfailing honour and integrity he was always there to lend a hand, support you unconditionally and help carry the burden. He enjoyed many years of active and adventurous retirement with his cherished wife Lanette and his kids whom he felt were his centre of gravity. In all things, he had a kind word and a great sense of humour. He will be sadly missed by all. As was his wish, a memorial service will be held in the summer of 2012, his ashes to be spread in the family plot in Honolulu, Hawaii. Condolences may be directed to family through the Summerland Funeral Home or online at www.providencefuneralhomes.com. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the charity of your choice, no flowers please. Arrangements in care of Summerland Funeral Home, 13205 Rosedale Avenue, PO Box 1859, Summerland, B.C.
