A fire in the wheel well of a truck on Friday morning damaged a power pole in the West Bench area near Penticton.
When firefighters arrived at the scene the fire had engulfed the wheel well, after appearing to have started in the truck’s engine compartment.
The flames extended to a nearby grass hill and power pole, but were put down by firefighters before they could spread further or cause a disruption to power in the area.
FortisBC was advised of the damaged pole according to the Penticton Fire Department.
No injuries were caused by the fire.
