Penticton Fire Rescue responded two small, ‘suspicious’ fires in the early hours of Sept. 29.

The first fire took place at 4:11 a.m. at unit four of Sheilings Motel. The ‘minor’ fire was located on the exterior of the unit and was quickly extinguished with a pressurized water canon.

Then at 4:22 a.m., crews responded to another small fire at the nearby Habitat for Humanity Penticton ReStore. Upon arrival crews determined the blaze was set on some type of mat in front of the buidling and extinguished the flames with a pressurized water canon.

Both fires have been deemed suspicious in nature and are currently under investigation by the RCMP. This post will be updated as more information becomes available.
