The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen board will look relatively the same as it did except for two new faces around the table in Electoral Areas of Naramata and Okanagan Falls.

In Electoral Area E (Naramata) Adrienne Fedrigo, a gelato shop owner with kids at Naramata Elementary, won the seat with 53.5 per cent of the vote (326).

A director seat opened in Naramata when former RDOS board chair Karla Kozakevich decided not to run again after serving since 2011.

With issues of development and run off, creating a new Official Community Plan and keeping Naramata unique and thriving is key issues for the next four years.

Three people threw their hats into the ring in Naramata.

Anita Molaro captured 238 votes while former Penticton mayoral candidate Jason Cox only got 45 votes. A total of 608 people voted in Naramata.

Area D, Skaha East-Okanagan Falls, saw the biggest upset with incumbent Ron Obirek losing to Matt Taylor who received 64.7 per cent of the vote. Obirek received 391 votes compared to Taylor’s 716. A total of 1,107 came out to vote in Area D.

In Electoral Area I, Kaleden, Apex, Subrina Monteith kept her seat capturing the majority of the votes (303) to challenger Mike Campol who saw 97 votes.

Electoral Area B - Cawston, Lower Similkameen kept incumbent Georg Bush with 221 votes.

Bob Coyne was elected to a third term as director of Area H, (Rural Princeton - Tulameen) with 306 votes over Michael Mazurek, who received 202.

Four of the electoral areas saw no challengers and were elected by acclamation. These were in:

Area C (Oliver Rural), Area A (Osoyoos Rural), Area F (Okanagan Lake West/West Bench) and Area G (Keremeos Rural/Hedley). Mark Pendergraft (recent chair of RDOS) remains in Area A, Riley Gettens for Area F, Rick Knodel in Area C, and Tim Roberts for Area G.
