UPDATE: Trans-Canada Highway open in 1 lane east of Sicamous after fatal collision

RCMP confirm the collision involved a motorcycle and a transport truck

The Trans Canada Highway is now open in one alternating lane east of Sicamous following a fatal crash between a transport truck and a motorcycle.

Cpl. Mike Halskov of BC RCMP Traffic Services confirmed that the Tuesday afternoon collision resulted in a fatality seven kilometres east of Sicamous. RCMP officers, a collision analyst and the coroner’s service are on scene investigating the crash, which closed the highway fully for several hours Tuesday.

“We’re just asking for people to be patient and monitor Drive BC for updates and obey the direction of any flaggers that are on scene,” Halskov said.

Reports on social media indicate the accident scene is in the Cambie area.
