Activity spotted on the Thomas Creek wildfire on Aug. 13. (B.C. Wildfire)

The Thomas Creek Wildfire is a little smaller, thanks to more accurate measurements by B.C. Wildfire.

The fire is now listed at 10,597 hectares, with current mild conditions showing benign fire behaviour.

The fire continues to be most active along the northern flanks of the fire near Allendale Lake and Derenzy Lake, where planned ignitions are being arranged to reinforce the guard lines.

Parts of the fire are in a modified response due to the steep terrain and are being monitored on a daily basis.

B.C. Wildfire Service firefighters continue to be reinforced on the ground by 62 members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

A further and more accurate perimeter map is expected to become available to the public later.

The Thomas Creek fire started July 11.
