Summerland street will be closed for Fall Fair tailgate event

Attractions on Sept. 6 will be held near Memorial Park

Wharton Street in Summerland will be closed on Friday, Sept. 6 to allow for the Farmers’ Meet and Greet Tailgate and other events during the Summerland Fall Fair.

A similar event was held on Main Street during last year’s fair.

This year, the Fall Fair Society would like to hold most of its Friday events in and near Memorial Park.

The closure will be between Victoria Road South and Kelly Avenue to allow food trucks and farmers to have access to a greater parking area while allowing safe travel for pedestrians and participants.

At present, Kelly Avenue and a portion of Wharton Street are closed because of construction work.
