Summerland issued 22 building permits in January

Development services department sees more activity than in previous years

Crews are at work on the Oasis development on Lakeshore Drive in Summerland. The development is for two six-store residential buildings facing Okanagan Lake and a mixed-used commercial and residential building facing Lakeshore Drive. Each of the two residential buildings will contain 12 units, at 140 square metres in size. Floors are terraced and each unit will have a large deck and a pool. (John Arendt - Summerland Review)

Summerland’s construction activity in January was considerably busier than during the same month in previous years, according to statistics from the municipality’s development services department.

Throughout the month, the municipality issued 22 building permits, with a total value of $3,084,500.

By comparison, in January, 2020, the municipality issued nine permits, with a value of $2,137,000. The value of building permits issued did not exceed $2 million in 2017, 2018 or 2019.
