Organizers with the Summerland Fall Fair would like the community’s help in finding old trophies.

The fair is returning this year after a three-year hiatus, but some of the trophies are missing.

Margaret Holler, one of the organizers of the fair, said committee members have been working to locate the trophies, but so far their search has been unsuccessful.

“The loss of these trophies is significant,” she said. “A lot of them have great historical value.”

The fair had run for 105 years, with its last year in 2014. Some of the 35 trophies had been around since the early years of the fair.

Holler is asking anyone with information about the trophies to contact the fair committee at summerlandfallfair@gmail.com.

The fair will be held on Sept. 7 and 8.

Holler said the fair will follow the traditions of the earlier agricultural fair, but it will also feature new events and new categories.

“Agriculture has changed,” she said. “The type of agriculture we do has changed over the past 20 years.”
