Summerland council members receive pay totalling $137K

Summerland’s elected officials received $137,358.30 in remuneration in 2021.

The figures were released in the Statement of Financial Information for 2021. This document must be filed with the B.C. Ministry of Municipal Affairs by the end of June each year.

Mayor Toni Boot received $37,123.68 in remuneration for the year.

The six councillors – Richard Barkwill, Erin Carlson, Doug Holmes, Doug Patan, Erin Trainer and Marty Van Alphen – each received $16,705.77 in remuneration.

In addition, council members claimed $6,245.65 in expenses. Boot’s expenses came to $1,459.37 and Holmes claimed $964.38 in expenses.

The remaining council members each had expenses of $764.38.
