Summerland council members appointed to committees

Appointments needed to provide council representation on boards and committees

Members of Summerland’s municipal council were appointed at alternates to several boards and committees.

The appointments were approved by council on Monday evening.

Mayor Toni Boot was named the liaison to the Summerland Community Arts Council.

Coun. Doug Holmes were named the alternate to the Agricultural Advisory Committee.

Coun. Erin Carlson was named the alternate to the Cultural Development Committee.

Coun. Marty Van Alphen was named alternate to the Parks and Recreation Commission.

Coun. Doug Patan was named alternate to the Water Advisory Committee.

Coun. Richard Barkwill was named an alternate to the Municipal Insurance Association of B.C.

Van Alphen was appointed as alternate liaison to the Kettle Valley Railway Society.

Trainer was named alternate liaison to the Summerland Chamber of Commerce.

Carlson was named alternate liaison to the Summerland Museum and Archives.

Holmes was named alternate liaison to the Summerland Community Arts Council.

Boot was named alternate board member to the Southern Interior Municipal Employers Association.

These appointments are in addition to the council appointments which were made at the Nov. 13 council meeting.

Council representatives and alternates are needed in order to have council representation at the various boards and committees.
