Acting 12 students at Summerland Secondary School will take the stage for the last time in high school as they present a comedy this week.

The students will stage The Good Doctor, a play by Neil Simon, at Centre Stage Theatre May 17 to 20.

Heather Ayris, drama teacher at Summerland Secondary School, said this will be the last opportunity for the students to perform in a high school production.

The play, written by American playwright Neil Simon, is a comedy based on short stories by Russian writer Anton Chekhov. It was released in 1973.

Ayris said the short stories which make up the play are loosely connected, with the uniting thread being the character of a doctor.
