When residents in Penticton woke up on Saturday morning, things looked a little different outside than they did the day before.

Just three days after the city had set a national heat record, Penticton saw the season’s first real snowfall.

Environment Canada categorized the precipitation in Penticton on Saturday as “light snowfall” with the temperature expected to reach -7 C with the windchill by the evening.

History was made in the Okanagan this week, as some people were seen taking a dip into a Vernon lake amid the unusually warm temperatures experienced across the region.

Things can change fast and the weather seen in Penticton to kick off the weekend was no exception.

The projected forecast in Penticton on Sunday calls for a mainly sunny, yet windy day.

A 60 per cent chance of flurries in the city throughout next week is consistent with all of Environment Canada’s projections.
