Mark Smed is running for a seat as a Summerland municipal councillor in the Oct. 15 local government election.

Smed has worked with local businesses as an IT consultant since 1988. His career has taken me up and down the valley from Vernon to Osoyoos but his home has always been in Summerland. At present, he works in private health care and is assigned to IT support.

“I have the best job of my life and I am very fortunate to be able to run for council,” he said.

Smed said his wife is a long-time resident of Summerland and and began our life together the the community in 1989.
