The small .16 hectare fire that sparked on Sunday approximately 5.5 km up Carmi Forest Service Road is now under control.

Gagan Lidhran, fire information officer with the Kamloops Fire Centre, said three personnel or one initial attack crew responded to the scene on Aug. 16.

She explained there was sufficient fire suppressant used to bring the blaze under control, which now remains smouldering.

Crews are conducting a final patrol around the fire, no structures were threatened by flames.

Lidhran stated, investigators believe the blaze was human-caused.
