A Barrier woman was rushed to hospital after losing control on the Okanagan Connector Friday morning.

She reportedly lost control near the Brenda Mines exit.

Reports on social media indicate the woman hit black ice and lost control. Both her and her dog escaped the crash.

She walked away from the accident and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Another driver lost control on the ice in Peachland Friday morning, narrowly avoiding a fall to a road 50 metres below.

RCMP are issuing a warning that roads are treacherous today.

"Emergency crews are being kept busy responding to various crashes throughout the Central Okanagan this morning, mainly due to the change in weather and road conditions," says Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey.

Motorists are being warned to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
