The Similkameen Independent Winegrowers (SIW) have had a busy year.

“Despite a cool spring and summer fires, winery visitation was really very strong,” said Sara Crockett, marketing director for the association.

Besides managing tasting rooms, the 10 SIW members also held winery dinners at various locations, attended markets, offered seminars on the region and hosted a group of 37 top sommeliers from around the globe as part of the first ever BC Wine Bootcamp.

“We were pleased to have the opportunity to provide wine industry experts with a taste of our valley,” Crockett said. “And the feedback was excellent. We have a very special region and they recognized that.”

Four of the wineries will be open during Christmas LightUp weekend and the remaining six will be open by appointment.

Clos du Soleil on Dec. 1 - 2 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Forbidden Fruit on Dec. 2 - 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Robin Ridge Dec. 1 - 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Seven Stones on Dec. 1, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Dec 2–3, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. By appointment Corcelettes, Hugging Tree, Rustic Roots, Orofino, Twisted Hills and Vanessa.
