When the Jones Flat and Garnett Valley Water System Separation is completed, bike lanes will be added to Garnett Valley Road.
On Monday, municipal council approved the design and construction of the road following the water system separation.
The final design and construction will be based on a 9.0 metre road width, including two 4.3-metre travel lanes with a 3.2-metre vehicle lane, a 1.1-metre bike lane and a 0.2 metre gravel shoulder.
Municipal staff will report back to council on alternative designs for a modified road cross-section alternative for Garnett Valley Road north of Wildhorse Road. Options for the section where Aeneas Creek is located next to the west side of the road will also be reported back to council.
