Additional adjustments were made for the third reading, at the March 3 regional district board meeting. These adjustments were the result of fine-tuning of carry-forward totals and do not affect the tax increases, finance minister Jim Zaffino said in a report to the board.

The budget for this year is for $22,183,924. This is an increase of $1,714,958 or 8.38 per cent from the 2021 budget of $20,468,966.

The city of Penticton accounts for $2,307,112. Summerland’s share is $884,946. Princeton’s share of the budget is $108,279. Oliver has a share of $1,624,490 and Osoyoos has a share of $937,913. The amount for Keremeos is $554,465. All community amounts come to $6,417,204.

The Penticton Indian Band accounts for $105,145. The nine electoral areas account for $15,661,576 of the budget.

The budget information and financial plan accounted for 800 pages of the 1,575-page regional district agenda package.
