Members of the local RCMP lent a hand after a Penticton resident’s ride got stuck in a fast-flowing creek in the backcountry outside Penticton.

The car became trapped in a creek behind the 3 Blind Mice trail network on May 28, and the resident called for help.

An RCMP ATV was able to pull the stuck vehicle out of the creek.

“Our region covers a lot of ground with different terrain,” said Const. Dayne Lyons, Media Relations for Penticton RCMP. “We come equipped with all kinds of special tools to respond to any call, in any area.”

This summer, don’t be surprised if you see an officer patrolling the KVR trail on an ATV or Quad. Much like how officers patrol the lakes, they also work to keep the trails safe too, said Lyons.
