The Naramata Fire Service Area has grown now that properties on Workplan Place and Kettle Ridge Way have been added.

At the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen board meeting on May 19, the board voted to add the properties at 2401 and 2431 Workman Pl. and 2405 and 2425 Kettle Ridge Way to the fire service area.

These properties are 1.5 hectares in area and while vacant, are in various phases of building single detached homes.

Earlier in May, 2022, the regional district board gave first three readings to the bylaw to include these properties in the fire service area.

The Naramata Volunteer Fire Department has confirmed it can provide service to these poperties at the same level as other addresses in the local service area.

The neighbouring properties in the Kettle Ridge subdivision are already part of the fire service area. Eight of the 37 lots in the subdivision had been excluded in the original subdivision.

The properties are in the Naramata water service area and there is a fire hydrant at the end of Workman Place.
