A water quality advisory was lifted at a popular Summerland beach just in time for the long weekend.

On Sept. 2, the District of Summerland received the Interior Health water sample results for Gordon Beggs Rotary Beach (South).

It was Aug. 26, high levels of E.coli were detected in the water.

A sign went up at the popular beach and beach-goers waited eagerly to see it lifted.

All other Summerland beaches including Rotary Beach (North), Peach Orchard Beach and Powell Beach are safe for swimming.

Another thing that has been lifted in Summerland is a campfire ban.

As of Friday, Sept. 2 campfires are again allowed, including beach fires.
