The RCMP has blocked off access to the Penticton Shooting Sports Range off Highway 97.
An officer at the scene on Friday, Sept. 16, said that he was unable to comment, but did confirm that police had been on scene since the early hours of Thursday morning.
A heavy police presence was spotted in the area Thursday.
The Penticton detachment has been contacted for further information.
It is not known if the police presence is related to an early morning fire that was reported along Highway 97 on Thursday.
The Summerland Fire Department has also been contacted for information.
