Photos of the Keremeos Creek wildfire appear to show that the fire has exploded in growth on Sunday.

Several people driving on Highway 3A from Keremeos to Penticton remarked that the fire is coming closer to the highway.

Keremeos volunteer fire department was drawing water from Yellow Lake along Highway 3A.

BC Wildfire listed the out of control blaze at 437 hectares as of Sunday morning, but that is expected to be larger by Monday.

The entire village of Apex Mountain resort and surrounding area is on evacuation alert and the resort has its snow making guns ready to shoot water if the winds switch and bring the fire back to that area.
