It’s unknown how long it’ll take the ministry to fix Highway 3A, between Keremeos and Penticton, after a mudslide spilled three-olympic size pools of mud across the road and into Yellow Lake.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure stated a portion of the road was eroded and a plan to fix it is still being worked on.

“The slide significantly eroded the road shoulder along the lake, so the repairs will require a detailed engineering solution,” said a statement from the ministry.
Drilling is taking place to confirm plans and an approximate timeline for repairs will not be known until that work is complete.
“The road remains open to single lane alternating traffic at this location, and we appreciate the patience of all drivers,” the ministry release stated.
The slide occurred around 6 a.m. Fri., April 13. The road was closed for several days before it was opened to alternating traffic.
