Man killed after motorcycle plunges into Otter Lake

A 24-year-old Surrey man was killed Sunday in an accident in Tulameen.

According to residents the man had just purchased a home in the community with his mother.

RCMP Corporal Chad Parsons said the victim was riding a motorcycle when it left the road and dropped 25 feet into Otter Lake.

The accident occurred at about 5:50 p.m.

“Two witnesses had been kayaking at the time. They went over and were successful finding the victim under the water,” said Parsons.

“They brought him back to the surface and performed CPR until EMS arrived.”

The suspected cause of death is drowning, although Parsons said the investigation in ongoing.
