Vernon Search and Rescue teamed up with Coldstream Helicopters and B.C. Emergency Health Services personnel to rescue and injured ATV passenger, hurt in a roll-over near power lines on the hills east of Vernon.

The incident happened early Saturday evening, June 3.

“Initial reports indicated that the subject had been unconscious for a significant amount of time, and continued to move in-and-out of consciousness,” said VSAR on its Facebook page.

“Once on-site, our crews determined a helicopter was needed due to the extent of the injuries, as well as the very rough road that was our only route to paved roads.”

Coldstream Helicopters Ltd. was called in to transport the injured person to the Vernon Regional Airport, where they were then transferred to a waiting ambulance.
