The final vote count from the B.C. provincial election is in, and as projected on election day (Oct. 24) Liberal incumbent Dan Ashton took the majority of votes in the Penticton riding.
Ashton received 13,217 total votes, giving Penticton’s MLA 48.19 per cent of votes. Ashton has been Penticton’s MLA since 2013.

Penticton’s NDP candidate Toni Boot received 10,343 votes in her first year running in a provincial election. Boot received 37.71 per cent of total votes in the riding.
Green Party candidate Ted Schumaker came in third with 3,152 total votes, good for 11.49 per cent of total votes.
And finally, Libertarian Party candidate Keith MacIntrye garnered 717 votes, or 2.61 per cent of total votes. MacIntyre’s 717 votes are the most ever received by a Libertarian Party candidate in B.C.
A total of 27,429 votes were counted in the riding.
