The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen has accepted a five-year interim license from the province for the site of the Apex Fire and Rescue Service Hall.
The land consists of 0.743 hectares and will house the fire services.

The Apex Fire and Rescue Service was established through referendum in 2020 and initiated at the start of 2022. At present, there is no permanent facility for this service.
In 2020, the regional district applied for Crown land tenure over a piece of land in the centre of the Apex community.
While the agreement is for an interim license, Mark Woods, general manager of community services at the regional district, expects the lease could be expanded.
“It is anticipated that the tenure will be converted to a longer term lease (30 years) once the full requirements of the province are met,” he said in a report to the regional district board.
