Crews working to repair watermain break in Summerland

Boil water notices issued in affected areas

A boil water notice has been issued for the James Lake Industrial Area, Trout Creek and the area along Canyon View Road in Summerland, following a watermain break on May 28.

The break, at the intersection of Simpson Road and Victoria Road South, occurred on the morning of May 28. A notice from the municipality of Summerland stated crews were anticipating until at least 4:30 p.m. before the repair work would be completed.

Sandwich boards with boil water notices have been set up in the affected areas. Interior Health and the municipality of Summerland are advising all users to boil water for one minute or use a safe alternative.

Cancelled signs will be placed on the boil water notice signs once the boil water notice is lifted.

Those in the affected area are told to limit water use until the water main has been repaired.
