A cougar has been caught on security camera walking behind a home in Twin Lakes, a rural community 20 minutes outside Penticton.
The big cat was filmed on Sunday, July 31 slowly waling past a backyard on Grand Oro.
There is speculation that the cat may have fled to the area because of the ongoing Keremeos Creek fire nearby.
Neighbours are warning to keep young children and pets inside as the cougar was still hanging around the are this afternoon.
The Keremeos Creek wildfire is burning in the Apex Mountain and Green Mountain Road area but is quite visible from Highway 3A as of Sunday.
It is around 440 hectares in size.
