This young cow was wandering around Surrey for months until she was captured and trailered to the Critteraid animal sanctuary in Summerland.

A young cow which survived alone for nine months in a Surrey Park is now living at Critteraid’s animal sanctuary in Summerland.

The Black Angus heifer was found on the Trans-Canada Highway near Langley last March and RCMP chased her. She ended up in a bog and brush area of Surrey Bend Regional Park.

She found enough to eat until fall, when park walkers began leaving grain and hay for her.

A Vancouver-based ecology organization, Lifeforce, organized her capture this month.

A corral containing food was set up.

The Canadian Disaster Animal Response Team from Critteraid trailered her to Summerland last week.

Call Critteraid at 250-494-5057 if you can offer a permanent home in the country for this cow, now named Lady Antebellum.
