Bear spotted near Munson Mountain in Penticton

Wildlife safety group urges residents to stay alert and keep dogs on a leash

The City of Penticton has received reports of a black bear roaming in the Munson Mountain area.

WildSafeBC sent out an alert Thursday (June 11) about the bear sighting in the popular recreational area close to the KVR trail.

According to WildSafeBC, bears have a range of approximately 25 kilometres. The organization advises to stay alert and keep dogs on a leash while in the area.
