A property owner on Garnett Valley Road is appealing an Agricultural Land Commission decision regarding her property.
In November, the property owner put in an application to use a barn at 18014 Garnett Valley Road for commercial weddings.
On Dec. 4, Summerland’s Agricultural Advisory Committee gave unanimous support to the application and on Dec. 14, municipal council also gave the application its unanimous support.
However, in March the land commission denied the application.
The applicant asked the municipality to issue a letter of support.
At the municipal council meeting on Monday evening, a motion was moved and seconded to decline the request for a letter of support.
This resolution was then withdrawn.
Instead, the municipality will send another letter of support to the land commission. A copy of that letter will also be sent to the applicant.
