Members of the Summerland Credit Union present a cheque for 939.05 to Brenda Lowe of the One Person Project, at right in the front row. The money was raised through the Credit Union’s Comfort for a Cause initiative. For the privilege of wearing jeans to work on Fridays, staff at contribute $1 each week, which is matched by the Credit Union. The money is then donated to an organization within the community. The One Person Project is using donations to ship a container to Summerland’s Friendship City of Kahama (Tanzania, East Africa). The container is filled with medical and educational resources as well as supplies for the Amani Children’s Clinic, the Muvuma Orphanage, soccer resources for schools and much more! There will be a Music on the Patio event at Lunessence Winery on Saturday July 23 to raise further shipping funds.
