The City of Penticton and BC Transit are making it easier for voters to get to the polls by offering free transit service on election day, Saturday, Oct. 20.
The free fare will apply on local Penticton routes only (1 Okanagan Lake/Wiltse, 2 West Side/Penticton Avenue, 3 Uplands/Skaha Lake, 4 West Side/Duncan East, 5 Main Street and 15 Night Route).

The City of Penticton is also advising residents living near the municipal election boundaries to double check to see if their property is within city limits.
The city reported that a number of non-addressed election information cards were accidently delivered to properties outside of the city, specifically those in the areas of Skaha Hills, Westbench and Red Wing.
“Bulk mail delivery, which relies on postal codes, and municipal election boundaries don’t always align”, said Penticton’s Chief Election Officer, Laurie Darcus in a news release. “If you’ve received a Penticton election information card and you live along the City’s election boundary, please check the maps available on www.penticton.ca to ensure you’re eligible to vote in Penticton.”
