TRENTON, ON - APRIL 22: Landon Wright #36 of the Collingwood Blues pursues the play during the third period at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens on April 22, 2024, in Ontario, Canada.

A forward from Ontario is set to bring some championship pedigree to the Penticton Vees.

Landon Wright, 18, has signed with the BCHL club for the 2024-2025 season, the team announced on July 21.

The Belleville, Ont., product won the National 'Junior A' Championship in 2023-2024 while suiting up with the Collingwood Blues of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL).

“We know how difficult it is to win a championship, so when you can add a player that has won at this level, you are very fortunate,” said Fred Harbinson, the Vees' president, general manager and head coach. “Landon understands what it takes to win at the junior level and will be a great addition to our strong forward group.”

Wright posted 41 points in 50 regular-season games with Collingwood last season.

Doing so as a 17-year-old, the forward went on to record 15 points in 19 playoff contests en route to helping the Blues win a national championship.

Committed to the University of Maine in 2025, Wright has also previously played for the Idaho Falls Spud Kings in the United States Premier Hockey League.

“Penticton has always been known for producing very high-end players and being a winning franchise," Wright said. "As I got to learn more about the program and how it's run, I knew immediately that it was the place I wanted to be."
