The City of Penticton has published the shortlist for the Snap Your City photo contest and wants the people to weigh in on their favourites.
“There were so many outstanding photos, it was a really difficult task to pare them down,” said communication manager Philip Cooper. “We selected photos for the shortlist that we felt would make great feature shots on the website. There were literally hundreds that we can see using elsewhere on the website or in City publications.”
The contest was launched in January, with the selected photos to be used for the City of Penticton’s new website, as well as for other city presentations and publications. Winners of the contest who receive the most votes from the public will get a one-month free pass to the Penticton Community Centre.
Penticton residents can go to shapeyourcitypenticton.ca and pick their favourites in each of the five categories: Recreation & Sports; Arts, Culture & Events; Amenities & Place; Nature & Parks; and Innovation & Economy. Only registered members of the site can vote.
Members can vote for as many photos as they like in each category, but they can only vote once. When the voting period ends on Mar. 1, the photographer of the photo with the most votes in each category will be declared the winner.
