The Summerland Ornamental Gardens will hold an open house on Saturday, March 1 from 10:30 a.m. until noon.

The open house will be held at the Ryga Arts and Cultural Centre, 9525 Wharton St. and will have information on how people can be part of the gardens for the 2025 season.

The Summerland Ornamental Gardens are at the Summerland Research and Development Centre and feature six hectares of gardens and xeriscape plants.

The gardens were created by Agriculture Canada in 1916. While Agriculture Canada continues to provide a base level of maintenance, much work is done by Friends Of The Gardens.
