An erratic driver was arrested in downtown Kelowna on Monday afternoon (Aug. 12) after crashing into multiple parked cars and the Global Okanagan building.
Kelowna RCMP received multiple reports around 5:30 p.m. of a vehicle driving dangerously and colliding with parked vehicles. The first report was witnessed in the Dilworth area and the driver made their way downtown.
Officers located the vehicle and the driver after they had crashed into Global Okanagan's building on Leon Avenue. The driver was arrested at the scene and transported to the RCMP detachment.
“We are very thankful that no one was hurt during this incident considering the driving behaviour and the distance the vehicle travelled while operated in this manner,” said Kelowna RCMP media relations liaison officer Sgt. Judith Bertrand. “The driver is in custody and will be attending court in the morning. They are facing many criminal charges and motor vehicle act infractions."
