Get your winter boots ready for the Hello Santa! Artwalk on Nov. 21.

From 4 p.m. until 9, 17 Penticton galleries are opening their doors for free, giving the public the opportunity to meet some of the artists and enjoy their works.

The walk starts with the opening night of the dual Ornamented and Long Night’s Journey exhibits at the Leir House. The Okanagan School of the Arts features their Children of the World exhibit, and the Penticton Art Gallery’s art preparator Glenn Clark will be opening his home studio to the public as well. All three will be open from 4 until 7 p.m.

Many of the galleries are celebrating the night with the opening of new exhibits.

The Tumbleweed Gallery collective debuts their new Echo exhibit, featuring the work of their local artists. The Saint-Germain Cafe & Gallery debuts Pictorial Cyclopedia of Exotic Plants: New Works on Paper by Alexandra Goodall, and the BeeLong Gallery and Studios opens their Itsy Bitsy exhibit; a group show featuring miniature (6”x6”) works from more than 25 artists.

The night wraps up with the Penticton Art Gallery’s Under 500 exhibit and sale from 7 p.m. until 9. Featuring artists from across B.C, it’s a good opportunity to pick up a gift as well as enjoy the art.

For more information, and the map of the walk, you can go to the Penticton Art Council website.
