The final days of downtown Penticton café and bakery Honey Toast are on the horizon.
Kristen (Fergy) Ferguson, owner of the Front Street business, says the beloved community spot will “permanently” close its doors on May 26.
Honey Toast first opened at 66 Front Street in May 2022, after Ferguson oversaw operations at the Nautical Dog Café near Skaha Lake.

Inspired by the family recipes of Ferguson’s grandmother, the downtown business had become a popular spot for coffee, cakes and other treats.
The owner addressed Honey Toast’s pending closure on May 7, in a social media post, saying that she’s moving on from the bakery business and taking a “significant role in a project” that she’s been working on since the start of the pandemic.
Her words were met with an outpour of community support.
“While this beautiful and exciting door has been opened to me, another must close,” she wrote.
Ferguson said the Front Street location will soon have new owners.
While bringing something “very exciting and delicious,” the new occupants will announce their unveiling soon, she added.
“Thank you for loving us and supporting us from our ventures at Nautical Dog Cafe all the way across town to Honey Toast.”
